‘In Painting’ at the Common Wealth War Grave Commission

As the colder weather sets in and landscaping elements start to slow down, we at RealGreen find ways to keep busy while adding value to our clients.

We are currently assisting the Common Wealth War Grave Commission with ‘In Painting’ of the head stones at all 8 of the Cemeteries that we maintain.

The process of ‘In Painting’ involves cleaning the old engraving with a hard brush, cleaning the stone, colouring in the engraved portion with a specially developed paint pen and then cleaning the headstone again with a chemical to remove any paint that has leaked over on the granite.

The finished product is a legible headstone enabling the causality to be remembered in dignity honouring both the soldier and the family.
