July is a time of the year that people around the July is a time of the year that people around the world celebrate nature, with World Conservation Day (28 July). So why not do your part, and plant a tree!

One way to get involved is to commit your business to planting trees, and making a small (but meaningful) impact on the effects of deforestation that is so incredibly harmful to our world.

There are great ways you can engage in this as a business:
1. Reward long service by planting a tree on your employees behalf.
2. Plant a tree every time you are awarded a new client or project.
3. Encourage your teams to plant trees to mark notable achievements.

If you’d like to “up” your green space and make this the year for conservation awareness in your office, chat to us, we can help you get there.

We’re committed to creating a greener (and more beautiful) today for many more tomorrows🌍🌻.

I’m the first thing your clients see when they ent I’m the first thing your clients see when they enter your property… What am I?

Yep! You guessed it, I’m your outdoor area or garden. Many business owners bypass caring for their garden, but let’s be honest would a shop owner let their store front look messy?
Exactly.

So here are 3 easy ways you can make your corporate landscape look fabulous:
1. Keep the lawn edges neat: a simple one, but maintaining clean cut, tidy and sharp lawn edges goes a long way to putting your best foot forward.
2. Garden furniture or features: creating pockets of space with features to enjoy such as benches and fountains creates an inviting outdoor environment.
3. Height & depth: planting snug flowers and short bushes, as well as tall trees and wall creepers, provides some interesting design features for the eye to focus on.

If you’re looking for more than advice, and need the experts to come in and work our garden magic for you… call us 📞+27 87 096 0195.

South Africa’s coastline has been drenched with ra South Africa’s coastline has been drenched with rainfall in the last 3 weeks. Here’s looking at your gardens…

It’s important to understand why a water heavy garden area is not good:
1. Root rot: too much water suffocates your plants, and could result in root rot.
2. Nutrient leaching: excess water means much of the soil nutrients get washed away. YOur plants need these to grow healthy & strong!
3. Fungal & bacterial disease: it’s no secret that fungi and bacteria like moist spots…this can take over your garden if left to fester.

So now we know the ‘why’, let’s look at the ‘how’ to sort it out🤓:
1. Increase drainage: You can improve your drainage in a number of ways such as raised beds, introducing organic matter and french drains.
2. Aerate the soil: Use a garden fork to make holes in the soil and increase the space for water to drain away and more air to enter.
3. Plant water loving greenery: plants that love the wetness will adapt easily, they’ll even absorb excess water. Think ferns and some grass species.

Let us know how you’re doing and next time mother nature throws a lightning bolt your way, come to us for advice😉.

Testing out new products to offer our clients THE Testing out new products to offer our clients THE BEST service possible. This is the Rolux ZTS36 lawn mower.

The RealGreen team had a ‘crash course’ on this commercial mower, which is neither a sit-on nor a push mower, but a stand-on mower - and we thought it was great!

Built to commercial standards, the Rolux ZTS36 is a zero turn mower with a 743cc engine, ensuring the job is done as quickly as possible, while easily navigating trees and other garden obstacles around it.

Watch this space, you may be seeing the RealGreen team with one of these guys on your corporate office lawns soon🌱!

Preparing your winter garden is essential to ensur Preparing your winter garden is essential to ensuring the health of your corporate outdoor space for the sunnier months to come🌞.

Here’s our key tips to preparing that winter garden:
1. Identify the plants that require frost guard.
🍁Some plants (like us humans) don’t withstand the cold very well. It’s important to cover them so they can still get light and water, but also maintain some warmth.

2. Remove old leaves and debris
🍁This will help your garden breathe and ensure no pests and garden harming diseases can get into your green space.

3. Mulch!
🍁Creating a layer on the soil that helps to avoid the coldness of winter getting into those roots.

4. Water in the early morning
🍁An easy one to implement which can get rid of frost on the plants AND helps to protect your plants through the colder days.

If it’s all a little much, let the professionals be your closest garden friend this winter. We’re here for you in both Johannesburg and the Garden Route:
